Compare the details

Compare specifications without a winner bias

Use the same questions for every candidate on your shortlist.

Set the criteria before seeing the price

Write down your essential requirements first. These might include clear material information, manageable controls, care instructions, dimensions, and the ability to use the item without an app. Separating requirements from optional features keeps a highly polished listing from setting the rules.

Keep evidence beside the detail

For each option, record the specific answer and where you found it. Distinguish a manufacturer specification from a reviewer’s impression. If two reviewers describe noise differently, look for differences in setting or method instead of averaging the opinions into a fictional score.

Explain the tradeoff in a sentence

A useful comparison ends with a reasoned preference: one candidate meets a practical need, while another offers a feature you may not use. If an essential detail remains unknown, do not silently mark it as a pass. This approach produces a personal shortlist, not a universal ranking of products we have never tested.
